Grand Palace


The Grand Palace construction begin from 1782. The Temple of the Emerald Buddha is within the Grand Palace. Only the outer palace and Temple of the Emerald Buddha is open to public visit.

The bridge is a national heritage built during King Rama V's rule. The bridge is built over Rop Krung Canal dug in 1783. It serve as a moat and a transport waterway when King Rama I expanded city.

Wat Traimit

Wat Traimit has a 3m high 5.5 tonnes Golden Buddha statue. The Golden Buddha statue was discovered in 1955 when it fell to the ground while lifting it. The plaster coating cracked and the Golden Buddha was discovered.


Bangkok Chinatown China Gate

Bangkok's Chinatown was founded in 1782 when King Taksin established the Thonburi Kingdom with the capital at Bangkok. King Taksin enlisted the Teochew Chinese to supply rice and food to the new capital and granted land for the Chinese community. It is one of the largest in the world. The China Gate was built in 1999 to signify the chinese community's royalty to King Bhumibol of Thaiand.



Chinatown Kuan Yim Shrine / Thian Fa Foundation

The foundation was founded by chinese immigrants in 1902 to give medical treatment to the poor. It has a Kuan Yim statue carved from teawood during the Song dynasty.
